Presentations Continue!

Senior presentations went well on Friday! Presentations will continue on Tues, Wed, and Thursday. WI's are due on Thursday, Sept. 2nd. Make sure you have at least 5 pages. All sources MUST cited.

What should be in your book this week?

1. Containment ideas. What is your idea? Explain, include sketches, and artists that influence and inspire you. Where do your ideas come from? What are you thinking? Why have you decided to make what you are making?

2. Inlude images and ideas you have researched. Do not print off articles and put them in your book, without notes and reflections being included. I do not want to just read the article, I want to know why it is in your book!

3. What process will you use? Slab, pinch, coil? Are you going to use the wheel? Will you be incorporating mixed media into your piece! AP students please be thinking about what you would like to be doing for your concentration. ( This only applies to Seniors who are testing this year!)

Containment?

As we discussed in class, the topic continues to be containment. You must bring in the fluid you wish to contain when you have finished your series of 5 matching containment pieces.
Remember that the artists that inspire and influence your work should be well documented in your WI. What do you see in your world, not in the computer, or in a book, that inspires and influences your work? Document it, write it down.
Ideas come to us at crazy times, keep the WI with you and write down your thoughts and ideas as they occur to you!

All work needs to photographed with a graduated background, and appropriate lighting. Please see me if you have questions! Thats why I am here!!!!

A NEW YEAR! 2010-2011

Welcome Back Everyone! (I.B., A.P., and Advanced Ceramics students!!)
It is time to get out the WI's, (Investigative Workbooks) and start again!
In order to create community and find out where everyone is in their developmental process each one of you will be presenting!

Your presentation should answer the following questions:

1. What artists inspire and inform your work? Why? How?
2. What is your favorite quote? Lyrics from music are o.k. to use, if you would like.
You may include your favorite music in your presentation if you would like?
3. How does the context in which you are living your life affect your work? (We will talk about
this in more depth in class.
4. Where is there ART in your world?
5. What have you made in the past? What do you hope to create in the future? Why?
